Failure is instructive. The person who really thinks learns quite as much from his failures as from his successes.

Welcome!

Picture
Here you will find stories of personal and professional life, trial and error, successes and failures—everything found within these pages is done with thoughtful intent and rooted in the Growth Mindset.

Integrating choice, ownership, and voice through authentic learning opportunities (COVA) in our classrooms and in my own academic and professional endeavors is a major objective of mine. It is very important that I model for my learners—both students and colleagues—rather than instruct and not ask anything of them that I would not do myself. Giving them choice, ownership, and their own voice can make a difference. Connecting that difference to authentic, real-world experiences can take it to the next level.

By taking the approach of owning the learning process, positively reflecting on setbacks, choosing appropriate vehicles to deliver content, and amplifying authentic voices, we can create real and lasting change in our classrooms and communities. Please take a moment to read my Learning Manifesto and Learning Philosophy in order to better understand my perspectives on learning and leading in the 21st century classroom.

This website will always be just a current snapshot of my personal and professional journey, so please check back often.

I welcome your feedback and I thank you for stopping by!
